Vinson & Elkins said Leslie Womble is the firm’s new Chief Talent Officer, based in Dallas. Ms. Womble previously served as partner and Chief Human Capital Officer at Cambridge Associates.
She will lead Vinson & Elkins’ global talent and human resources responsibilities comprising recruitment, professional development, and benefits, it stated.
Ms. Womble has nearly 20 years of experience building global talent development functions, creating firmwide learning ecosystems and award-winning management programs, and leading enterprise-wide initiatives, the firm reported.
“Leslie brings a proven track record as a business leader who understands the importance of an engaged workforce,” said Keith Fullenweider, Vinson & Elkins Chair. “We know that the way our lawyers and business professionals work with and genuinely care about each other is a competitive differentiator, and I’m confident Leslie will be a champion and steward of that culture.”

Ms. Womble’s career evolved in the financial industry from investment research and then transitioned into human capital and talent management, the firm said. “Vinson & Elkins has built something many firms talk about but rarely achieve: An environment where collaboration is genuinely embedded in how people work,” she stated.
