By Karen Roman

Vinson & Elkins said Joshua Johnson and Louise Fischel-Bock returned to the firm’s Washington, D.C. appellate practice and London corporate team, respectively.

Mr. Johnson’s appellate experience includes cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Courts of Appeals, and private practice on criminal and civil matters, while Ms. Fischel-Bock focuses on all aspects of energy transition projects and the transactions supporting them, the firm stated.

“Joshua is an established leader in the appellate bar who has tackled and won numerous complex legal challenges of first impression across the country,” said Jeremy Marwell, partner and chair of the firm’s appellate practice.

Mr. Johnson previously served as Assistant General Counsel at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and Ms. Fischel-Bock was a counsel at Akin Gump’s London office, it said.

“Louise is a fantastic lawyer with deep sector knowledge and a clear passion for energy and infrastructure. Her return strengthens our corporate offering at a time of continued growth and opportunity,” said Ben Higson, head of Vinson & Elkins’ London transactions practice.
