IRVING, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Vizient,
Inc. announced today it has been named a finalist in the D
CEO Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards program. Winners
will be announced August 1.
Vizient was nominated in the Innovative Collaboration category for a
digital scavenger hunt mobile app created for Spark!
Dallas, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization that provides an
immersive learning environment for children in grades two through 12.
Vizient was one of four companies named as a finalist in this category.
“Vizient truly believes in giving back to the communities where our
employees live and work,” said Colleen
Risk, chief people officer for Vizient. “We encourage and support
employee involvement in a wide range of nonprofit organizations, and
we’re very proud of our application development team members who were
involved in this innovative project for Spark! Dallas.”
Vizient provides its employees many opportunities to give back their
communities through initiatives such as Community Day, a dedicated day
each year in which employees company-wide leave their desks for the
better part of the day to volunteer in their communities; Volunteer
Match, in which Vizient donates to approved charities for each hour of
Vizient employee volunteer work; and Vizient Cares Connect, a portal
that gives employees access to volunteer opportunities and allows them
log and track hours.
“We try to create a culture of service,” said Risk. “We want our
employees to share their talents with people who need them and make a
difference in the world outside of the Vizient offices.”
The award is presented in partnership with Communities Foundation of
Texas. All finalists will be included in a special feature in the August
issue of D CEO, on dceomagazine.com.
