Lance Hyde Named Minority Supplier Diversity Professional of the Year
PITTSBURGH–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) has named EQT
Corporation’s Diversity Manager Lance Hyde as its Minority Supplier
Diversity Professional of the Year. Hyde received the honor during the
NMSDC’s Leadership Awards Gala in New York, NY, on May 16, 2019.
The Minority Supplier Diversity Professional of the Year is presented to
a recipient who demonstrates exceptional action, engagement and
leadership in supplier diversity and in support of NMSDC’s mission.
Hyde, who oversees EQT’s diversity initiatives and is an award-winning
thought leader and change agent in the supplier diversity space, has
managed EQT’s supplier diversity program since 2012. Hyde has been
honored with eight national and regional awards for his dynamic
leadership, community involvement and supplier diversity innovation.
While working at EQT, Hyde also completed his Master of Business
Administration with a concentration in energy management from Waynesburg
University; Hyde also drafted a white paper for the NMSDC’s
Petrochemical Energy Industry group, which outlines the energy
industry’s barrier to entry, capital investment options, safety and
insurance requirements. It continues to serve as a resource guide for
more than 460 national corporate members and 16,000 minority-owned
business enterprises.
“Supplier Diversity is in the DNA of our operations organization, and I
give Lance most of the credit for that,” said Rob McNally, EQT president
and chief executive officer. “Lance believes fully that he’s doing the
right thing, both from a business perspective for the Company he works
for, and by impacting the community in a positive way. He’s making a
difference for people.”
Just as cultural diversity strengthens communities, EQT believes
supplier diversity strengthens a business. EQT is committed to creating
and maintaining a diverse supplier base, a successful initiative headed
up by Hyde, who develops relationships with businesses that reflect
diversity in their ownership and workforce and seeks out the commodities
and services they provide.
“This award honors a long journey of perseverance and represents a team
that I’m proud to be on,” said Hyde. “The team begins with my family –
my parents, wife and children who inspire me – and very special
individuals, including EQT colleagues, who have supported me along the
way.”
